Our focus extends beyond just critiques and awards, as we strive to create a nurturing environment that supports dancers in their full process of learning and growing, both on and off the stage.

Hands on, personal, intimately invested…a multifaceted experience
Dear Directors,
We have spent over 20 years in the competition industry and it has truly been a privilege to have shared a part of so many’s dance education journey. Over the years, we have realized that our greatest accomplishment has been to create a nurturing environment that went beyond just critiques and awards, but rather assisted dancers in the full process of learning and growing on and off stage. We realize that the totality of the experience can be more beneficial than just the 3-4 minutes on stage. Further, that the best experiences are ones that personal feedback is readily available and connections with the professionals giving the feedback can be fostered.
In normal NDS fashion, we are taking the huge LEAP (pun intended🤩) to push this competition experience forward with the desire to make the experience more personal, more impactful, and just a little bit different. We are excited to announce that we have launched this season NDS THE EXPERIENCE! NDS The Experience includes a weekend of workshops, judge-led live feedback sessions, competition, and a showcase similar to our Nds Dance off. It will be a well rounded opportunity for dancers to fully engage in learning and growing that shifts the focus from simply competition to personal growth and development in a nurturing more intimate environment. Due to the nature of the atmosphere that we wish to create, we will be limiting entries.
